How to: Edit POP and IMAP Settings

MDA stands for Mail Delivery Agent and is concerned with getting the messages from the MTA to your clients. In this section, you will find section for the POP3 and IMAP services.

Change the POP3 Memory Limit

  1. Click the System Services menu item if it is not already open.

  2. Click the Mail Server menu item if it is not already open.

  3. Click the MDA Settings menu item.

  4. Locate the MDA Server Information [POP3] section.

  5. In the POP3 Memory Limit field, type the amount of memory (in bytes) you wish to allow the POP3 mail server to use.

  6. Click the Update button.

  7. You will see the following set of messages at the top of the screen: POP3 settings updated successfully. Service successfully restarted.

Change the POP3 Connection Limit

  1. Click the System Services menu item if it is not already open.

  2. Click the Mail Server menu item if it is not already open.

  3. Click the MDA Settings menu item.

  4. Locate the MDA Server Information [POP3] section.

  5. In the POP3 Connections (max) field, enter the number of POP3 connections you wish to allow.

  6. Click the Update button.

  7. You will see the following set of messages at the top of the screen: POP3 settings updated successfully. Service successfully restarted.

Change the IMAP Memory Limit

  1. Click the System Services menu item if it is not already open.

  2. Click the Mail Server menu item if it is not already open.

  3. Click the MDA Settings menu item.

  4. Locate the MDA Server Information [POP3] section.

  5. In the IMAP Memory Limit field, type the amount of memory (in bytes) you wish to allow the IMAP mail server to use.

  6. Click the Update button.

  7. You will see the following set of messages at the top of the screen: IMAP settings updated successfully. Service successfully restarted.

Change the IMAP Connection Limit

  1. Click the System Services menu item if it is not already open.

  2. Click the Mail Server menu item if it is not already open.

  3. Click the MDA Settings menu item.

  4. Locate the MDA Server Information [POP3] section.

  5. In the IMAP Connections (max) field, type the number of connections you wish to allow.

  6. Click the Update button.

  7. You will see the following set of messages at the top of the screen: IMAP settings updated successfully. Service successfully restarted.
