How to: Enable SNI for Mail Over Port 587 and 465¶
As of InterWorx version 6.7.1, SNI is possible for mail sending over ports 587 and 465 using the Dovecot MSA. This allows customers to use mail.domain.com as their server in mail clients without security warnings, as long as that domain has mail.domain.com listed on its SSL certificate.
Note
SNI is only available over port 587 and 465. Mail clients that are set to use port 25 will still receive security warnings if using mail.domain.com as the server in mail clients.
Dovecot, and the Dovecot MSA are both enabled by default on new installations of InterWorx. Users on new InterWorx installations may skip to To Set the Ports for SNI.
On existing InterWorx installations, it may be required to covert to Dovecot and enable the Dovecot MSA.
